“TOGETHER we will mend Czechia.” Leaders of the SPOLU coalition sign a coalition treaty
Civic Democrats (ODS), Christian Democrats (KDU-ČSL) and TOP09 chairs Petr Fiala, Marian Jurečka and Markéta Pekarová Adamová, signed a SPOLU (Together) coalition treaty to run a joint campaign in the upcoming parliamentary elections. Their motto for the first campaign phase is “TOGETHER we will mend Czechia”.
The parties are running together since the current political and social situation calls for more cooperation between the democratic parties than ever before. The coalition will focus on pro-Western direction of the Czech Republic and protection of the democratic constitutional system.
“Our country is standing on the crossroads and the SPOLU coalition is here for everyone wanting to take the road towards an educated and competitive society of the 21st century. Towards a country with a strong economy, low and simple taxes, balanced budgets and undisputable pro-Western direction. We do not promise overnight miracles and we know there is a lot of hard work ahead of us. But I am convinced that the SPOLU coalition team has enough common sense and experience to rise to the challenge. Signing a joint coalition treaty is an important milestone,” says the ODS chair and SPOLU coalition Prime Minister candidate Petr Fiala.
“TOGETHER we offer a positive vision for our society. The main motivation for our cooperation is that we can do more. Pessimism, resignation and bitterness currently prevail in our society, and we must change that. We offer energy, professionalism and empathy. We have experience and people who won’t have to learn to govern by trial and error. Our coalition is here to help working parents, and won’t let down single parents, the elderly and those who cannot help themselves. Together, we want a clean environment; protection of our waters, soil and clean air is equally important in the country and in the industry, during development of the countryside and the towns,” says KDU-ČSL chairman Marian Jurečka about the coalition vision.
“With my signature of the coalition treaty I confirm the will of the TOP09 membership base to join the coalition for the upcoming elections. I truly feel a great support of our members, and I am convinced that by joining forces we can change the government and build our society and economy back up. Our aim is to win the election and form a democratic government – a government supported by the citizens with focus on solving the country’s problems and aim to renew a good reputation of Czechia abroad as well,” says TOP09 chair Markéta Pekarová Adamová.

ODS, KDU-ČSL and TOP 09 set up a campaign for first time voters and young people
Young voters have once in four years an opportunity to speak out about the future curse of the Czech Republic’s politics. There are over two milion of voters who are thirty-five years old and younger, however, unfortunately, most of those people don’t care about it too much. They don’t find the elections interesting enough. And that’s why young candidates of the SPOLU coalition decided to organize a campaign called „Spolu jdeme volit“ / „We vote for SPOLU together“.
SPOLU: We introduce our electoral programme „SPOLU dáme Česko dohromady“ and candidates to the Czech parliamentary election
„Spolu dáme Česko dohromady,“ such a title is given to the electoral programme by the SPOLU coalition. Its formation has taken approximately 1800 hours and roughly 300 specialists in 10 programme teams have worked on it.
