Ženíšek: We belong to the West and the V4 in the history books. Its continuation no longer makes sense
The Visegrad Group has succeeded in bringing these four post-communist countries together as members of the Euro-Atlantic structures after 1989, and this will surely also give it a worthy place in our history. This is even though Slovakia had to wait until 2004 to join NATO, while the Czech Republic, Poland and Hungary became the first Eastern Bloc countries to join NATO in 1999.
Marek Ženíšek: The defence treaty with the US does not mean that an American base will be built here. Unfortunately
Marek Ženíšek (TOP 09), MP and chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee, in an interview for the daily FORUM 24, refuses and explains the greatest nonsense that is being spread in connection with the ratification of the Czech-American Defence Treaty (DCA). TOP 09 clearly supports the defence agreement
During the meeting of the Chamber of Deputies, TOP 09 unequivocally supported the approval of the defence agreement between the Czech Republic and the USA. This is a classic international treaty concluded between two sovereign states and a member of NATO.
