Jan Vitula was born on November 3, 1968 in Brno. He graduated at the Mendel University in Brno. First work experience was taken in bank sector as a consultant. Since 2013 till 2017 he was a Member of the Parliament. He currently works as the Mayor of Židlochovice since 2014. In 2017 Jan Vitula was elected as a Vice-Chairman of TOP 09.
After 1998 he was working in Ernst & Young company. Mr. Vitula led an expert team which was creating the first version of EU program the Research and Development for Innovation. EU projects remained his working field. In 2007 Jan Vitula started to work as the Chief Executive Officer of the EU Operational Programs Division in the Ministry of Education. And In 2011 became the bursar of Masaryk University in Brno.
Jan Vitula had focused on regional policy since 1998 as the Vice-mayor of Židlochovice and during 2006 – 2008 he was working as the mayor of Židlochovice. In 2012 Vitula became a leader of TOP 09 regional candidate list and was elected as a Member of Regional Council. Since 2013 he acts in the Common Strategic Framework Funds Council. He was also elected the Mayor of Židlochovice again on 2014.
Jan Vitula was re-elected as a Member of Regional Council in 2016 as a leader of coalition Žít Brno and became the Deputy Governor for Regional Development.
In 2017 Jan Vitula was elected as a Vice-Chairman on the fifth National Assembly of TOP 09.
