New chairman of TOP 09 Matěj Ondřej Havel: Together, we will work for a prosperous and safe Czech Republic
The new chairman of TOP 09, Matěj Ondřej Havel, warns that the Czech Republic is facing the biggest external and internal threats in modern history. Russian aggression, the rise of extremism in Europe, and attempts to undermine free media in the Czech Republic pose serious risks to freedom and security.
Havel rejects the newly forming government coalition as a cynical alliance driven by personal interests, not by values or responsibility. TOP 09, he says, must remain a firm defender of democratic principles, Euro-Atlantic cooperation, and support for Ukraine.
He emphasizes that true peace is never free and that freedom can be lost through indifference. TOP 09 will act as a constructive opposition with real solutions, expertise, and a clear vision for sustainable finances, quality education, and a strong international position.
